The quality of the sea moss was very good. It was easy to soak and use in smoothies, or even plain water. The taste of the sea moss was not strong, but the texture was thick. It did not have a strong scent either. Great value for money. When it is purchased dry, it could be used when you want it.
It seems many of the pictures in the reviews show it just after being put in water, so here’s what it looks like after soaking for two days.I have an issue with stalks in most foods (Broccoli being one), so I’ll be honest—I did cut the stalk off before blitzing. It’s easy to blitz, and with the amount you’re adding to a smoothie, I couldn’t really taste a difference except for a slight salty taste. But it’s not like adding a spoonful of salt, nothing that bad. So, it’s adding some extra minerals into the mix, which is all good for me.I do wonder if a powder would be a simpler approach overall, although I did notice they also offer a gel.
Positives:-Vegan and Non-GMO.A sun-dried natural product, rich in iron and iodine.Full of essential minerals.Easy to make into a gel following instructions in the included “how-to guide”.As a vegan, I already had all the ingredients for the included “Berry Smoothie” recipe, which is delicious.Very useful as an additive to stews & soups.Good shelf life - use within 1 year of opening.Eco-friendly, 100% recyclable container.Negatives:-None at the time of writing this review.Observations:-Came in a very sturdy upright circular tube (80mm diameter x 180mm) made of eco-friendly, 100% recyclable materials.Conclusion:-This is an excellent, very nutritious, versatile product, which I thoroughly recommend.
Great project, good ingredients, easy to use, recommended.
Whilst this might look expensive, it does produce a lot of gel once blended. Instructions are included, but they are straightforward. Soak overnight. Then put in a blender with some water and blend. The gel produced is very thick. I scraped out most of it and then put in some more water and blended that. I mixed this in with the other gel to loosen it up.The gel is quite salty, even after soaking and rinsing. Once you've mixed it in with something else the saltiness is less apparent. The texture is smooth and thick, definitely like the cans of Irish Moss drink I used to be able to get from our corner newsagent years ago. If you want a mineral boost for your smoothie, this is a good option.
Mi piace, non mi posso pronunciare sui benefici perché è ancora presto.Pero da una consistenza speciale ai miei frullati
I love this stuff. It really doesn't taste of anything. It's slightly salty. You won't taste it inside yogurt, smoothie or juice drink. I know you are supposed to zap it in the blender but I enjoy munching it.It has a great texture. It takes a few hours to swell. I usually prepare it the night before. I don't take it every day. I take it only when I feel a bit run down. I prepare a batch that will last a few days in the fridge. Very nice packaging
When you open the package, the sea moss smells like the ocean, briny and a bit salty. It's dry and crisp to the touch, but that changes when you soak it. After sitting in water, it grows four to five times its size and becomes soft and gel-like.It's great for salads, smoothies, or even as a thickener for soups and sauces. Once hydrated, it keeps a mild ocean flavor that adds a fresh, mineral taste to dishes like salads.
Includes a little ‘how to’ booklet with suggestions for how to prepare this moss to use. The basic suggestion provides you with a nice thick ‘gel’ which is great for adding to smoothies/ soups.I had a little bit directly on my tongue (before making the gel) and had a slight taste of the ocean for hours!I’m looking forward to experimenting with recipes more - but coming into winter, this will be a good additional flavour / spice in the kitchen. I would 100% gift this to someone - the packaging is attractive and it makes a thoughtful interesting gift idea.
Excellent quality product with no plastic waste in packaging. So many applications and excited to use it. Definitely recommend.
Wildcrafted Sea Moss by Mecantu. Order arrived on time and well packed for delivery. The Sea Moss arrived in a cylindrical container, beautifully box making it perfect as a gift, or a keep sake for those inclined to do so.Upon review / According to the packaging:✅Sourced from Jamaica, use within 1 year of opening✅packed with 92 essential minerals of the 102 your body needs.✅ Includes vitamins A,B,B12,C & KThe instructions are quite easy to follow, but I'd also suggest doing some research into how to prepare, and use. Mecantu are also a VEGAN choice award Winner. This is a really good product, it's not for everyone, but if your seeking towards a healthier living style I would certainly suggest giving this a try, subject to makings sure it's right for you.At the time of this review, £15.99 for 100g.5/5
This is a lovely item which looks the part. It's clearly high end and the quality of the moss inside is spot on.I wanted this to add to stews and to use as a garnish. We are trying to eat clean but i don't like putting seaweed into too many dishes due to the salt content of it.This is a really good addition to your chef's larder and actually because a little goes a long way, it's pretty ok valuewise too.Overall, this is a good option for anyone looking to add some health to their diet without too much messing around.
Perfect for home made jelly sea moss, easy to prepare and store!
I really love the packaging. The tube is easy to open and it looks really nice on the kitchen table. There’s an instruction booklet in the tube that tells you how to use it.The moss needs to be rinsed a few times and then soaked overnight to become soft. Once soaked, it becomes plump and jelly-like.I blend mine with water until it becomes a thick, smooth gel then keep it in the fridge. The gel can be used in drinks and soups. It works as a thickener. Of course, you can just eat the gel neat to get the health benefits. It has a bit of an acquired taste (a bit fishy) and can impart that to foods. Make sure to test before you decide to add it to a big portion.
